On November 1, 2022, a pedestrian was tragically killed by a SamTrans Bus near the South San Francisco BART Station. The fatal collision was confirmed by a SamTrans spokesperson.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 pm, at the intersection of Mission Road and McLellan Drive in South San Francisco, when a SamTrans bus (northbound Route 130) struck and killed a 63-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Emergency personnel, including, San Mateo Sheriffs, transit police, SamTrans management staff, and the coroner, responded to the scene; unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The victim's identity has not been released but he was reported to have been from San Francisco. No further details are known about the incident at this time.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is investigating this tragic incident.
