Wrong-Way Driver In Salinas Causes Head-On Collision on Highway 101

Salinas Highway 101 auto accident

Last Monday, August 26, 2024, a woman driving on Highway 101 caused a head-on collision with a big rig truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman from Salinas was intentionally driving the wrong way.

The driver was wearing her seatbelt and somehow survived the accident. She was transported to the hospital to be treated for major injuries and undergo a mental health evaluation.

The CHP determined that the driver intentionally drove the wrong-way into the semi-truck and could possibly face criminal charges. Sadly, this collision happened just hours before another wrong way head on crash occurred in nearby San Jose on Highway 85.
